Classic mid-century glamour from WEISS, featuring a spectacular combination of brilliant clear round rhinestones and elongated emerald-cut/baguette rhinestones. The graduated fringe design places the larger rectangular stones vertically along the front of the necklace, each separated by sparkling round rhinestones, creating incredible movement and light around the neckline.
The necklace is signed WEISS at the clasp. Albert Weiss founded his company in New York in 1942 after working for Coro, and the firm became particularly celebrated for its beautifully constructed rhinestone jewelry. Similar signed WEISS baguette fringe necklaces are attributed to the 1950s, making this a wonderful example of the glamorous jewelry associated with the company during that period. (Albert Weiss Collection ®)
Measurements
Approximately 15.5” long
Large rectangular rhinestones: approximately 3/8” long × 3/16” wide (9.5 × 5 mm)
Condition
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The photographs show the condition and clarity of the individual stones closely and should be considered part of the description.
Styling
This is pure 1950s evening glamour—the kind of necklace that transforms a simple black dress, crisp white shirt or evening neckline. The alternating baguette and round stones give it far more presence than a traditional single-strand rhinestone necklace while remaining beautifully elegant.
❗JEWELRY CASES AND ANY OTHER ITEMS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE FOR STAGING/DISPLAY ONLY AND ARE NOT INCLUDED.❗
We carefully package our vintage pieces using reclaimed boxes and recycled packing materials whenever possible. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
