Every order from The Marialva Collection is handled with the same reverence we have for the pieces themselves. Each item is carefully wrapped and packed by hand — because we believe the unboxing experience should feel as special as the treasure inside.
Our Packaging Promise
We are deeply conscious of our environmental footprint, and our packaging reflects that commitment:
- We use bubble wrap made from recycled plastics whenever possible to protect your pieces.
- We re-use cardboard packaging materials whenever possible.
- Whenever we can, we ship jewelry in vintage jewelry cases sourced from estate sales — a beautiful nod to the history of the pieces themselves. Please note these are available in limited quantities, as they depend entirely on what we are able to source.
- For all other jewelry orders, we use cardboard boxes.
We hope you’ll join us in caring for our planet — please re-use and recycle your packaging whenever you can. Every small act makes a difference.
A Note on Jewelry Cases in Our Listings
You may notice antique jewelry cases featured in our product photographs. Please be aware that these cases are not included in the sale unless explicitly stated in the listing. These are rare antique cases that we source and purchase at considerable expense — they are used for photography and display purposes only. If you have questions about what is included with a specific piece, please don’t hesitate to contact us before purchasing.
Shipping & Delivery
Free Shipping
We offer free standard shipping on full-price orders of $35 or more. Orders are typically shipped within 4 business days of purchase.
Priority Shipping
Need your order sooner? Priority shipping is available upon request. Please contact us before placing your order and we will arrange priority shipping and bill you accordingly.
Signature Required & Shipment Insurance
For your protection, orders of $200 or more require a signature at delivery. We also insure every outgoing shipment at full value at our cost — because your piece deserves to arrive safely.
Please ensure someone is available to receive your package. If a delivery attempt is missed and the package is refused or returned undelivered, the order will be subject to return postage and a 15% restocking fee.
Managing Your Delivery — Important!
As soon as your order ships, we will send you a tracking number so you can follow your package every step of the way. We strongly encourage you to act on your tracking information promptly — each carrier handles undelivered packages differently:
- UPS: If you are not home, UPS will leave a delivery notification at your door with instructions. UPS will make up to 3 delivery attempts — after the third missed attempt, the package will be automatically returned to us.
- USPS: If delivery cannot be completed, USPS will hold your package at your local Post Office for a period of time. If it is not picked up within that window, it will be returned to us.
To avoid a return, you can manage your delivery at any time using your tracking number:
- Place a hold on your package at a UPS or USPS location for pickup at your convenience
- Arrange a pickup at your nearest UPS Access Point or USPS Post Office
- Authorize the carrier to sign on your behalf online — so your package can be delivered even when you’re not home
These options are available through the tracking link we provide. Please don’t wait — acting early ensures your package reaches you safely and avoids unnecessary fees.
Returns & Exchanges
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Items must be returned in their original packaging and condition.
Need to return something? Please contact us as soon as possible at mymarialva@gmail.com or (908) 328-9594 so we can work with you and guide you through the process. Do not ship a return without contacting us first.
Standard Returns
- Return shipping is at the buyer’s expense. We do not charge for outbound shipping on standard returns — that cost is already included in the item price.
- Buyers must insure their return shipment at the full value of the item. We insure all outgoing shipments at full value — we ask that you do the same on the way back to protect your purchase.
- If your item was originally shipped with a signature requirement, your return must also be shipped with signature confirmation. This is the safest way to protect against porch pirates and ensure your return is received securely.

Refused or Undeliverable Packages
If a package is refused at delivery or returned because it was not collected (after 3 UPS attempts or the USPS hold period), the following charges will apply and be deducted from your refund:
- Full return postage at UPS retail rates (including signature confirmation and rural delivery surcharge where applicable)
- A 15% restocking fee
