Vintage Crown Trifari Fur Clip designed by Alfred Philippe, an exceptional early Trifari statement piece dating to 1940.
This elaborate fur clip features dramatic sweeping foliate and scroll forms covered with clear pavé rhinestones. Large faceted pink and aqua-blue glass stones create a striking focal point, while touches of green enamel accent the stylized leaves. The dimensional construction and extensive stone setting give the piece the jewel-like quality for which early Crown Trifari designs are so highly collected.
The reverse is signed Crown TRIFARI and stamped:

The documented patent attribution identifies the design with Alfred Philippe and dates it to August 1940. The patent number stamped directly onto the piece provides particularly desirable documentation for the design.
The reverse retains the substantial double-prong fur clip mechanism characteristic of these early statement clips.

Approximately 2.5” long x 2.25” wide
Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with a piece dating to approximately 1940. There is visible aging and discoloration to some of the smaller clear rhinestones like yellowing or darkening, along with wear to portions of the green enamel and metal finish. The large pink and aqua-blue stones remain wonderfully striking.
