A little crown with magnificent presence, this vintage Trifari Coronation brooch features richly colored stones in an intricate sterling silver setting with remnants of its original gold vermeil finish.
Two large sapphire-blue cabochons flank the crown, with a ruby-red cabochon above the center. Red and green rhinestones, emerald-green rectangular stones, and clear rhinestone accents complete the regal design.
Designed by Alfred Philippe, this crown matches U.S. design patent No. 137,542, filed February 12, 1944, and granted March 28, 1944. A collectible circa 1940s piece, the reverse is signed TRIFARI with crown and marked STERLING with the design patent number.

Good overall vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear and patina. The original gold vermeil finish has worn, revealing the sterling silver beneath, with traces of the gold finish remaining. Some clear rhinestones show mellowing and darkening consistent with age. No obvious missing stones are visible in the supplied photographs.
