A wonderful vintage Leonard Silverplate round presentation tray, made in the U.S.A., with an especially interesting Virginia Tech provenance.
The center is engraved:
“Presented to
DR. DANIEL D. LUDWIG
for
Exemplary Service and Leadership
as
Director, Division of Engineering Fundamentals
Virginia Tech
1988–1997”
The underside retains the original Leonard Silverplate label along with the Made in U.S.A. label.
This is a fabulous combination of vintage American silverplate and university history. The classic round form features a broad raised rim and beautifully reflective surface, making it equally appealing as a collectible presentation piece or as functional vintage décor.
Measurements
Approximately 12” diameter
Approximately 9.75” interior diameter
Condition
Good vintage pre-owned condition with visible surface scratches, polishing marks and signs of previous use, particularly within the center field. There are also small areas of age-related surface wear. The engraved presentation inscription remains clear and legible. Original Leonard and Made in U.S.A. labels remain on the underside.
Please review all photographs closely as they form an important part of the condition description.
Styling
Perfect for a bar, vanity, coffee table, centerpiece, candle display, serving collection or layered silver display. It would also be a fascinating collectible for someone interested in Virginia Tech memorabilia, engineering history, university history or vintage presentation silver.
❗❗ JEWELRY CASES, DISPLAY STANDS AND ANY OTHER ITEMS SHOWN ARE FOR STAGING/DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY AND ARE NOT INCLUDED. ❗❗
We thoughtfully reuse boxes and packing materials whenever possible. Questions are always welcome.
