Description:
Charming vintage miniature silverplate butter dish complete with its fitted lid and coordinating butter spreader. The rectangular dish features ornate shell-and-scroll corners, twisted rope borders, and decorative ring handles. The fitted lid repeats the rope and foliate decoration, creating an especially elegant individual butter service.
The underside bears a faint floral or fleur-de-lis maker’s mark. The butter spreader has a delicate engraved border and appears to be a complementary piece.
Measurements:
Circa 4.5” long by 3.25” wide by 1.5” high.
Butter spreader measures circa 5.5” long.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with surface scratches, tarnish, patina, and areas of plate wear consistent with age and previous use. The spreader shows more pronounced tarnish and finish wear. Please review all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
