An impressive vintage Reed & Barton silverplate covered tureen, beautifully designed for an elegant table. The substantial oval body features a classic fluted lower section, ornate floral and shell detailing around the rim, handsome scroll feet and handles at either end.
The removable lid is especially striking, with a broad polished border surrounding a deeply fluted domed center and substantial finial. A dedicated ladle opening at the side allows the serving ladle to remain in place while the tureen is covered—both practical and beautifully designed.
The interior continues the fluted design and the piece carries a Reed & Barton maker’s mark to the underside. A wonderful statement serving piece for soups, stews, vegetables or other dishes, and equally beautiful displayed on a sideboard or dining table.

Condition
Good vintage condition with surface scratches, light marks, patina and other signs of previous use consistent with age. The interior shows some age-related discoloration and spotting.
