Description
Measurements
* Pendant/Brooch: Approximately 2.5” H x 1.5” W
* Necklace: Approximately 18” L
Description
A striking vintage Peruzzi Florence convertible pendant brooch, handcrafted in 800 silver and showcasing the elaborate Renaissance Revival style that made the Peruzzi workshop internationally renowned. The ornate openwork design features scrolling acanthus leaves, hand-formed roses, bead accents, and five articulated silver dangles that create graceful movement. At the center is a richly colored oval faceted purple stone, likely amethyst or amethyst-colored glass, set in a decorative beaded bezel.
The reverse is clearly marked “PERUZZI SILVER 800 FLORENCE,” confirming its origin from one of Florence’s most celebrated silversmiths. Designed to be worn either as a brooch or as a pendant, it is paired with an 18” silver-tone chain.
About Peruzzi
Founded in Florence in the late 1800s, the Peruzzi workshop became famous for reviving the artistry of the Italian Renaissance. Their craftsmen drew inspiration from 15th- and 16th-century Florentine jewelry, incorporating hand-finished scrollwork, floral motifs, medieval styling, and sculptural details into their silver creations. Many visitors to Florence sought out Peruzzi jewelry as wearable works of art, and today signed examples remain highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
Larger, more elaborate Peruzzi designs—particularly those featuring gemstone settings, articulated elements, and dual-purpose pendant/brooch construction—are among the most desirable pieces produced by the workshop.
Condition
In good vintage condition with a beautiful aged patina consistent with age. The pin mechanism functions properly, and all articulated dangles are present and move freely.
Please review all photographs, as they form part of the description!
Styling Ideas
An exceptional statement piece that can be worn as a dramatic pendant or an elegant brooch on a jacket, dress, scarf, or coat. A wonderful addition to any collection of Italian silver, Renaissance Revival jewelry, or signed vintage designer pieces.
Please note‼️‼️‼️Jewelry box and all other items shown are staging props and are NOT included‼️‼️
Your order will be carefully packed using reclaimed boxes and recycled packing materials whenever possible.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
