A refined vintage Gorham silver soldered bowl featuring a beautifully pierced openwork gallery and elegant hand-engraved script monogram at center.
SILVER SOLDERED is a heavy-duty form of silver plate made for frequent use, commonly seen in hotel and restaurant quality serving pieces. It has a thicker, more durable silver finish than standard decorative silverplate, but it is not solid sterling silver. This Gorham piece is marked “Silver Soldered,” indicating a higher-grade plated construction designed to wear beautifully over time.
The repeating oval pierce pattern combined with the fluted inner rim gives this piece that classic early 20th century American refinement — understated, tailored, and timeless. A perfect small serving bowl or elegant catchall.
Marked Gorham Silver Soldered to underside.
Measurements

Condition
Very good vintage condition with light age-appropriate surface wear and gentle patina. Monogram present at center (please review photos carefully). No dents noted. Normal surface scratching consistent with use.
Styling
Lovely for wrapped chocolates, cocktail nuts, mints, or styled on a bar cart. Also beautiful layered on a larger silver tray for that Old Money entertaining aesthetic. The monogram only adds to its heirloom charm.
