Antique Gold Filled Cameo Necklace dating approximately to the late Victorian to Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910.
This beautiful period necklace features a petite classical female profile cameo in cream against a warm reddish-brown ground. The cameo is mounted within an exceptionally detailed gold filled centerpiece incorporating twisted rope decoration, delicate scrolling wirework, applied fan-shaped ornaments and architectural bar fittings.
The reverse has an open-backed cameo setting, revealing the reddish-brown reverse of the cameo material.
One of the particularly attractive features is the substantial approximately 1/4” wide 2-row chain, constructed with closely linked bead-like elements. Together with the elaborate handmade-looking centerpiece and period detailing, it gives the necklace wonderful antique character.

Condition
Good antique condition with expected age-related patina, oxidation, finish variation and surface wear. These characteristics are consistent with the considerable age of the necklace and have not been polished away. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition.
