From a lifelong private carnival glass collection, this gorgeous bowl is, to the best of our research and understanding, an antique Fenton “Dragon & Lotus” ice cream–shaped bowl in cobalt blue carnival glass, dating to around 1912–1915. The rich cobalt base glass shows outstanding iridescence with peacock greens, electric blues, and warm golds. Around the rim you see alternating panels of stylized dragons and lotus blossoms, with a detailed floral medallion in the center and a gently scalloped “ICS” rim for that classic early Fenton look.

We are not professional glass appraisers; our identification is based on published references and comparison with documented examples of Fenton’s Dragon & Lotus pattern in cobalt blue ICS form. Approximately 8.6” in diameter measured across the rim.
Condition
Beautiful antique condition for glass that is over a century old. Iridescence is strong and colorful with the usual variations and minor production marks typical of early carnival glass (mold lines, light straw marks, and slight inconsistencies from the original pressing). I do not see any obvious chips or cracks, just light wear from age and careful display. Please zoom in on all photos, as they are part of the description and show the surface and color under strong light.
Styling
This is a statement piece for any carnival glass or early American art glass collection. Display it on a plate stand in a china cabinet, layer it into an “old money” sideboard vignette with silver and books, or let it anchor a collection of cobalt and iridescent glass on open shelving. The dragons and lotus blossoms make it a wonderful conversation piece and a star in any curated tablescape.
