History of the maker:
Sampson Bridgwood & Son, a renowned earthenware and china manufacturer, was founded in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Although the company’s official establishment date is 1820, as mentioned in the Pottery Gazette Directory, it’s worth noting that the company’s roots can be traced back to 1795 when Samuel Bridgwood, a skilled potter, partnered with his brother-in-law, Richard Johnson, under the name Johnson & Bridgwood.
There is so much more on this potter you can research. The makers mark showed that these plates were made in 1901.
