Antique Art Nouveau Sheffield Style silverplate egg coddler/server, c.1890–1910.
Holds 12 eggs with fitted removable insert
Twin hinged lids, ornate handle & floral garlands
Pierced repoussé footed base, quality Sheffield plate
Originally included a glass egg timer (missing, not uncommon)
These elaborate egg coddlers are exceptionally rare. Surviving examples are usually only found in museum collections, such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. They were created for the most luxurious Edwardian breakfast tables, symbolizing refinement and wealth at the turn of the century.
⚜️ Condition: Very good antique condition with age-appropriate patina and wear. Insert intact. Originally included a glass egg timer (missing, not uncommon)
