Georgian Style Silver Paste Saint Esprit Necklace Original Loop for Ribbon 16” 2
Georgian Style Silver Paste Saint Esprit Necklace Original Loop for Ribbon 16” 2
This Georgian style necklace features a bird in crown pendant made of silver with white clear paste glass stones. It has loops for ribbon, measuring circa 16 inches in length. This antique necklace is in a Georgian Style.
The necklace has no clasp and the original most likely black ribbon is no longer with it. They used velvet ribbon instead of a clasps during the time.
Most necklaces in this style today have replacement claps and no longer have the hoop endings.
Georgian necklaces were made as chokers - which was a popular style and the fashion during the Georgian period, and some of the most desirable styles included dog collars or chokers. I personally love to see this being used with a ribbon. However a jeweler can easily fashion a chain and clasp or just use a different color velvet ribbon and wear this gorgeous gem in the original style.
