An exquisite late-Victorian folding biscuit box, appears to be by Fenton Brothers Ltd. of Sheffield, celebrated makers of fine silverplate during the late 19th century.
This elegant example features twin scalloped shell-form covers mounted on a naturalistic branch and leaf stand, reflecting the Art Nouveau influences of the era.
When opened, the interior reveals the original grill panels, which slide upright into position to hold biscuits or sweets — and fold back down so the box can be neatly closed again.
A superb combination of artistry and engineering, perfect for display or use during a refined tea service.

Condition
Excellent antique condition with minor imperfections on the outer shell plating and light surface wear consistent with age.
Interior grill panels show mild surface scratches but slide smoothly and fold easily when closing.
Plating remains overall bright and reflective; hinges and mechanisms operate well; sits level when displayed, these have a tendency to wobble to be honest .
