A beautiful and increasingly collectible signed CFO Danecraft sterling silver brooch featuring a graceful butterfly among blooming flowers and twisting branches. This is not a later Danecraft piece but an earlier example bearing the coveted CFO hallmark used by Felch & Co. before 1945.
Founded in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1934 by Victor Primavera and James Felch, Felch & Co. marked their handcrafted sterling jewelry with the distinctive CFO maker’s mark. When Primavera purchased Felch’s interest in 1945, the company was renamed Danecraft. As a result, pieces carrying the CFO Danecraft mark represent some of the earliest and most sought-after examples of the firm’s work.
The ornate openwork design reflects the nature-inspired aesthetic collectors associate with early Danecraft production, featuring detailed flowers, winding branches, and a beautifully rendered butterfly in an Art Nouveau style. The craftsmanship and sterling silver construction make this a standout addition to any vintage jewelry collection.
