Antique Pair Shakudo Dangler Earrings Swallows Grass Post Back

These Antique Shakudo Dangler Earrings feature a beautiful design of swallows soaring over grass. The earrings are oval in shape with a butterfly closure on the post back. It appears that these were changed to post back at a later period.
Made of Shakudo metal in Gold color, they have a post back for lobe wear. These are such an amazing pair and reflect the unbelievable artistry that goes in the creation of such beautiful pieces of art.
Shakudo jewelry is a traditional Japanese technique using a copper and gold alloy that develops a distinctive, dark patina (often black or indigo) through a chemical process, and is used in jewelry, sword fittings, and other decorative objects.
Shakudo has a rich history in Japan, with its use dating back to the Edo period (1603-1868).
