Beautiful Victorian-era Meriden Silver Plate Co. quadruple plate tea and coffee service with richly chased floral and scroll repoussé detail throughout. The set includes a kettle on stand with burner, teapot, covered sugar bowl, creamer, waste bowl, and a large engraved tray that complements the service beautifully.

The tray is a later marriage — not original to the set — yet harmonizes perfectly in tone and style, completing the display with elegance.

Each piece rests on ornate scrolled feet and features finely detailed repoussé work and decorative finials. The exterior silver finish is exceptionally bright and well preserved, showing no significant loss or dents.

The interiors show age-appropriate use and mild discoloration, typical for antique quadruple plate serviceware, adding to its authenticity and charm.

Collector’s Note:

Meriden Silver Plate Co., a leading American maker of the late 19th century, was known for its heavily plated, luxurious designs — “quadruple plate” referring to four layers of silver applied for exceptional durability and richness. Sets of this quality and completeness remain highly collectible and perfect for both display and service.
