An original cast iron desk clip by the Judd Manufacturing Company (New Britain, Connecticut), well known for their decorative castings at the turn of the century. This finely cast piece depicts a woman in a bonnet with flowing hair, retaining traces of its original brass/gilt finish.
Size: 3.75” x 2.5”
Maker: Judd Manufacturing Co. (USA)
Mark: Mold number “5241” impressed on reverse (documented Judd catalog reference)
Material: Cast iron with brass/gilt wash
Date: Late 19th–early 20th century
Condition: Strong spring, finish wear consistent with age, overall very good antique condition. Beautiful Patina on this piece‼️
A highly collectible piece of Judd desk art, both functional and decorative. An excellent addition to any collection of American cast iron or Victorian desk accessories.
