Adams Tunstall jasperware biscuit barrel.

The deep matte cobalt ground is decorated with crisp white neo-classical figures in raised relief, in the tradition of Wedgwood jasperware.

The ceramic body is topped with a silver plate collar, swing handle and fitted EPNS lid, giving the piece a lovely elegant look that feels both refined and cozy.

The interior is glazed white, making it practical for everyday use as a biscuit or cookie jar, or as handsome storage on a coffee bar or sideboard. It displays beautifully alongside blue and white china, sterling tea services and Old Money style tableware.

Approximate measurements: about 9 inches tall to the top of the raised handle, about 5.5 inches tall to the top of the lid, and roughly 5 inches across at the widest point.

The base is impressed Adams Tunstall England with additional potter’s marks, and the lid is stamped EPNS for electroplated nickel silver.

Condition: Presents beautifully with gentle surface wear from age and use. The silver plate shows light scratches, polishing marks and a bit of expected age patina.

The jasperware body shows a few small scuffs and handling marks, including a rubbed area to the blue ground, all consistent with an antique piece that has been loved and used. Interior is clean. No cracks or repairs observed; please zoom in on photos for the best view of condition.
